Orbis Sentinel is run by a small, independent team based in Ankara, Türkiye. We started the channel in 2025 for one simple reason: we want people to get accurate news about this war – calm, sourced and honest about what is still unknown. Türkiye is not a party to the war, but it is a Black Sea neighbour of both Ukraine and Russia: the same sea, the same shipping lanes, the same grain and fuel routes. That vantage point shapes how we work – close enough to care, far enough to check.

The whole team is in the photo above; the editors who sign our articles are listed below. Our videos are researched and scripted by our team. The articles on this site are the written versions of those videos, prepared with the help of AI tools and reviewed by our editors. When we get something wrong, we correct it publicly on our Corrections page.

Editorial responsibility: Editor-in-Chief: Mehmet Sadık Sunay. Responsible for all published content.

Mehmet Sadık Sunay

Founder & Editor-in-Chief

Mehmet Sadık Sunay founded Orbis Sentinel in Ankara in 2025 and leads it as editor-in-chief. He started the channel with one aim: to bring people accurate information about this war, as carefully as we possibly can – showing where every claim comes from, and saying openly what is still unknown.

As editor-in-chief, he is responsible for everything Orbis Sentinel publishes, on YouTube and on this website. If you think we got something wrong, he wants to hear about it.
